This fine house was built in 1719 and remodelled by a former Governor of Quebec who named it Beauport after his summer home in Canada. It is unspoiled by its transition from residence to first class hotel and guests will particularly enjoy the three most attractive features - seclusion, the stylish elegance of the interior and the extensive range of leisure facilities. Set at the end of a winding drive in 33 acres of tranquil parkland, you are welcomed by a perfect example of a Georgian country house. The tastefully modernised lounge and bar areas are warmed by open log fires, and the candlelit restaurant, renowned for its cuisine, overlooks the formal Italian and sunken gardens. The bedrooms too are furnished to a high standard and leave nothing to chance in terms of additional luxuries, Beauport is close to the Channel ports and the many attractions of this beautiful part of Britain. Yet in these historic surroundings anyone seeking either peace and quiet or a more active holiday need look no further than this lovely hotel, whose rating of Highly Commended and awards for comfort we found to be fully justified.
