A privately owned island hotel, The Dark Island has achieved acclaim as one of the best hotels in the Highlands and Islands.
The intimacy and elegance of our Carriages restaurant will help you to relax and appreciate the high standard of our award-winning kitchens. Our cuisine offers only the finest and freshest of produce, based on our own island fare from local crab and peat smoked salmon to the best of venison and game. Extensive A La Carte and Table d`Hote menus are available. They include both vegetarian and other special diets.
The hotel has 42 bedrooms, all beautifully decorated. There is a choice of double and twin-bedded rooms in our Economy, Standard and VIP ranges. All our rooms include colour TV, radio, tea and coffee making facilities. All standard rooms have en suite bathrooms. VIP rooms have additional en suite provisions and facilities, including trouser press and hair dryer.
The Dark Island`s facilities for guests include a comfortable and spacious residents lounge. The hotel is fully licensed. Our large lounge bar offers a fine selection of malts and regular live entertainment. There is also a popular public bar. A third bar features in the comprehensive function and conference facilities of the Monach Suite.
