Cyclists will find many good cycling routes close by including the 4 Abbeys Cycle Route and we are still within a short drive of more specialised cycling courses such as Glentress Forest which boasts some spectacular mountain biking terrain

Above the banks of the River Tweed the town is obviously a hit with fishermen. Some of the best salmon and trout fishing in Scotland is just a short scenic walk away. Permits available locally as well as all the requirements for the enthusiastic fly fisher

Those looking for a slower pace will find Harmony Gardens and Priorwood Gardens offering a large variety of flora and fauna to idle away those tranquil summer days

Melrose is famously connected with the oldest rugby Sevens tournament in the world which are held annually in the spring. The G * A is within 100 yards of the famous Greenyards rugby ground. Golf and fishing packages available
