Owned and loved by the Makepeace family who, for over 22 years, have provided a special blend of friendly yet professional service. The hotel’s spectacular setting is a flower-filled combe, facing its own sheltered sandy bay and entirely surrounded by 2000 acres of dramatic National Trust coastline. While it is perhaps one of the last truly unspoiled corners of South Devon, Soar Mill Cove is only 15 miles from the motorway system (A38). “Serendipity”, the fine dining restaurant holds 3 RAC Dining Awards and this luxury 4 Star hotel is the AA’s highest rated in Devon. All the bedrooms are at ground level, each with a private patio opening onto the gardens, which in spring or summer provides wonderful alfresco opportunities. In winter, the efficient double glazing keeps cooler weather at bay. A strict “no conference policy” guarantees that the peace of guests shall not be compromised. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are spring-water fed, the former being maintained all year at a constant 88°F. Here is Keith Stephen Makepeace’s award winning cuisine, imaginative and innovative, reflecting the very best of the West of England; fresh crabs and lobster caught in the bay are a speciality. Soar Mill Cove is situated midway between the old ports of Plymouth and Dartmouth. Ratings/Awards:AA/RAC 4 Stars
