Edinburgh is only 45 minutes by car so why not include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Royal Yacht Britania or Edinburgh`s excellent shopping facilities in your short break. For the sportsmen or artistically minded there are many events in and around Peebles. Spring brings the Peebles Rugby Sevens in April and the Jazz Festival in May. Peebles Beltane Festival and Shakespeare at Traquair are both in early Summer and the Highland games in mid September. In Autumn the town comes alive with the Arts Festival. Winter brings Christmas and Hogmanay Festivities.
