Built as a private sporting estate, Bovey Castle is located in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. Today, privately owned by Peter de Savary, the Castle and Estate have undergone a complete restoration programme. The Castle offers 65 luxuriously appointed bedrooms and 14 lodges, each individually styled with elegant simplicity. Grand reception rooms overlook the formal gardens and parkland beyond. Our exquisite Palm Court Dining Room with its dramatic hand painted Chinese wall-coverings is the perfect place for dinner with modern English cooking and an extensive wine selection. Bovey Castle is well known for its 18-hole championship Old Course. Challenging and dramatically set, the course was designed by the distinguished JF Abercromby in 1926 as a sister course to Gleneagles and Turnberry and has been restored by the noted course designers, Donald Steel and Tom Mackenzie. Our new, specially designed holistic spa is complemented by our spectacular pool. Other sporting pursuits include fly-fishing, falconry, archery and horse riding. Children`s facilities include a play barn, Bovey Ranger Kids Club, baby sitting and baby listening.
