A unique example of 1930s modernism, set on its own private island off the South Devon Coast, Burgh Island has been frequented by bright young things since it opened as an hotel in 1928. Agatha Christie, Noel Coward and Mountbatten all stayed here: contemporary guests are assured of anonymity! Rooms are all decorated in art deco style and are all different: several are suites and many have balconies - all have fabulous sea views. During the day the ambiance is relaxed: you can picnic on the cliffs, the beach, play tennis, billiards or croquet at the hotel or golf at the nearby course on the mainland, or simply sit in the sun in the gardens or tropical Palm Court. At night, our guest dress for dinner and dine in style in The Ball Room - on Wednesdays and Saturdays to the sounds of our `30s house bands. Other Facilities:
