On the A449 midway between Malvern and Ledbury, the hotel straddles the Herefordshire/Worcestershire hilltop county border at British Camp, the Iron Age hillfort also known as the Herefordshire Beacon. British Camp - `one of the goodliest vistas in England` - offers walks with the same breathtaking views that inspired Edward Elgar`s stirring music. The site of a hostelry for travellers for more than half a millennium and an ideal centre for touring.
Excellent bar food and real ales (CAMRA recommended) served in a lively oak-panelled lounge, elegant Nightingales restaurant (Wynds Point was home to Jenny Lind, the famous Victorian operatic `Swedish Nightingale`) and friendly attentive staff combine to provide cosy comfort during your stay.
