For more than four hundred years, the three-storeyed Crown Hotel has dominated the High Street of the beautiful market town of Nantwich. Records show that the original inn was mentioned in the Domesday Book. It was burnt down in the fire of Nantwich in 1583, and quickly rebuilt by Queen Elizabeth I, with timbers from the nearby Delamere Forest. As it enters its fifth century, the beautiful building has taken on a new lease of life, on completion of the most extensive repair and refurbishment in memory. The result is that The Crown retains the unique features linked with its past and combines them with luxurious modern facilities.
