The Tyr Graig Castle is a remarkable and unique country hotel situated between the mountains and the sea. Only 1/2 a mile out of Barmouth town centre and on the borders of the Snowdonia National Park. The hotel was originally built in 1891 for WW Greener the famous Birmingham gunmaker and it is alleged that Mr Greener made the gun that was used by Doc Holliday in the famous `GUNFIGHT AT THE OK CORRAL`. The hotel still retains many of it`s original features and style of the Victorian era with stained glass windows, wood panelling, decorative floors and very elaborate ceilings, whilst still offering modern day comforts. Each of the twelve bedrooms are no smoking, and are individually decorated and furnished, with all having en-suite bathrooms and the following facilities. Our award winning restaurant is very popular due to our reputation for excellent food and service. The menu is changed on a seasonal basis to make use of the very best of local fresh produce, and offers exceptionally high quality and excellent value. It is therefore advisable to reserve a table when booking your room to avoid disappointment.
