Riber Hall, situated high on a hill above Matlock, neighbouring on Riber Castle, dates from the 15th Century. This renowned historic manor house enjoys a tranquil and picturesque location with scenic walks and spectacular views within minutes of the hotel. Privately owned and proprieter run for over 30 years, Riber Hall is elegantly furnished throughout with period furniture and is renowned for its charm with intimate and romantic atmosphere. Renowned for gourmet cuisine, Riber Hall is awarded AA 2 Rosettes and RAC 2 Blue Ribbons in recognition and is an AA wine award finalist - uk top 25 2002 and 2003 The intimate accommodation around the courtyard and in the old hall features mainly antique four poster beds, whirlpool baths with many thoughful extras. The tranquil old walled garden and orchard, alone, with conservatory, is worth a visit and enjoys plentiful and diverse bird life, including many rare species. Riber Hall is situated on the borders of the Peak National Park with Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Hardwick within 20 minutes. Sporting facilities include an all weather tennis court with ball training machine and Carsington Water with its views and watersports is only 10 minutes away.
