Originally built in 1835 as a residence for Sir William Chaytor, The Croft is situated on the border line of County Durham & North Yorkshire in the historic village of Croft On Tees and overlooks the River Tees. The Croft stands in front of the Croft Bridge where the road from Northallerton to Darlington crosses the fast flowing river.
