Antique lovers are especially enchanted by what they find at Egerton Grey. This distinguished country house, which opened as a small luxury hotel in 1988, boasts a wealth of fine antiques, porcelain and paintings. The house`s historic character - it dates from the 17th Century and was a rectory in Victorian times - has been magnificently preserved. In addition to the antiques, there are beautifully restored Edwardian bathrooms, original brasswork, open fireplaces, ornate mouldings and outstanding mahogany and oak panelling. Guests are served traditional country house recipes beautifully presented on elegant china. The bedrooms, all individually decorated, provide every thoughtful detail. Egerton Grey rests in a peaceful and secluded valley with views down to the sea. Its seven acres of lush gardens include a croquet lawn. The location is perfect for touring South Wales, Cardiff, the Welsh Folk Museum, the Gower Peninsula and Brecon Beacons are all easily reached - and the hotel is conveniently close to Cardiff-Wales Airport. Your experienced hosts, Richard Morgan-Price and Huw Thomas will ensure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
