Prestonfield House was built in 1687 and opened as a hotel in 1959 and is one of Scotland`s finest historic mansions. Adjacent to Arthur`s seat and surrounded by formal gardens and a golf course the hotel is only 5 minutes from the city centre. The deluxe bedrooms complement the historic ambience of one of Scotland`s finest historic buildings, still furnished with the original family collections. All our guest bedrooms are individually designed, but the sumptuous décor and spaciousness of Room Seventeen is typical of our large luxury doubles.
Each is styled with super king-size or twin beds, comfortable chairs or sofa, a writing desk, decorative antiques, and a dressing area with fully fitted wardrobes, trouser press, iron and ironing board - and a hospitality tray.
Walls are covered in tactile velvets, silk brocades, or hand-printed papers. And discreetly hidden inside a splendid Gothic cabinet, you’ll find a 30” flat screen television, DVD player, safe, plus a mini-bar. Every room has a Bose Wave sound system and direct-dial telephone with voicemail.
Bathrooms are finished in marble and Venetian glass mosaic, with luxury robes, warm fluffy towels, and exclusive toiletries Ratings/Awards:AA Hotel of the Year 2005, Scotland & Northern Ireland
