Standing on the waterfront of the sheltered harbour of Portree, The Rosedale Hotel enjoys impressive and unique views across the bay towards Ben Tianavaig and the Isle of Raasay. The original buildings were homes for the fisher-men of Portree, some of which date back to the reign of William IV. Portree as the capital of Skye, is the natural focal point for activity on the island and ideally placed as a touring centre. The Rosedale Hotel offers nineteen bedrooms, most enjoy the impressive view across Portree Bay, all are equipped with private facilities, colour television, radio, direct dial telephone and hot drinks making facilities. Bed rooms with four poster beds are available. Accommodation is available in the main hotel building or in Beaumont House which stands lOOm further along the waterfront. All the bedrooms, not being purpose built are individual in character, size and decoration. Our Award Winning first floor restaurant over looking the harbour, gives you a good view of the fishermen unloading the days catch, some of which you may find on tomorrows menu. The reputation we have for the highest standards of cuisine, relies on us using quality local and fresh produce. Enjoying your coffee or planning your next day, two comfortable lounges will help you unwind and relax. A good selection of Highland malt whiskies are available from the bar including the locally distilled Talisker. The Rosedale Hotel is but a few minutes walk from the amenities of Portree which include a swimming pool, squash court and shops. A sporting 9 hole golf course is but a short drive away. Skye exerts a powerful attraction on visitors from all over the world. Many are drawn by its legendary beauty, and some of the wildest mountain and coastal scenery imaginable. Here you`ll find virtually unrestricted access to one of the few remaining unspoilt areas of Europe, and with it an unmatched opportunity to see some of Scotland`s rarest wildlife species in their natural habitats.
