This charming old coaching inn, whose name signifies the union of England and Scotland by James I, was built around 1605. With its quaint cobbled courtyard, the listed building is in a lovely location, close to the Abbey grounds and the River Thames. In the heart of the Thames Valley, Oxford is an 8 mile drive away. Famous the world over for its university and many historic and cultural attractions, conveniently located and easily accessible from major roads such as the M40, M25, M4 and A34. Home to the MG Car Club, situated by the River Thames and Didcot Railway Museum for steam enthusiasts, it is only a short drive to the Cotswolds, Blenheim Palace and Woodstock. Follow the one-way system into the centre of Abingdon where the hotel is conveniently located.
