It is thought the Grange Lodge Hotel was built as a private house, in about 1815 using the profits made from privateering. It stayed in the same hands until purchased by the Mansell family in the 1930`s. From this time it was run as a hotel apart from a five-year break during the German Occupation. With three acres of extensive gardens, 11 self-catering flats, an outdoor heated swimming pool (open from Easter until October) the hotel is an ideal place to relax. A varied menu is available in the restaurant and a bar menu in lounge bar plus its closeness to the town this family run hotel could not be more appealing.
