This small hotel is owned by Janet and John Schuckardt. Both former teachers, Mr and Mrs Schuckardt took over Well View in 1984. The house was built for two brother shoemakers in 1864 and was named after one of the several sulphurous wells which led to Moffat`s growth as a Victorian spa town.

Janet and John have cultivated a restful ambience amid traditional furnishings. Their aim has always been to encourage guests to treat Well View as their own home during their stay.

Janet`s culinary expertise and John`s election as Fellow of the Academy of Food and Wine Service are complimented by an outstanding cellar of wide range.

Allied to its warm borders hospitality, Well View has earned recognition of its service to its guests from the Scottish Tourist Board, AA, RAC etc. Group Affiliations:Circle
