The Strathaven Hotel is privately owned and managed by the Macintyre family. The main building dates back to 1797 and was originally built for a Glasgow merchant. It was designed by the famous Robert Adam and still retains many original features and is a Category B listed building. The picturesque grounds are very colourful and make a delightful backdrop for wedding photographs.

Strathaven Hotel is situated on the A723 on the outskirts of Strathaven, a small but busy market town, with many historical interests such as its very own castle and links with Sir Harry Lauder, the greatest musichall artist of all times.

The hotel is well located for touring central Scotland. Both East Kilbride and Hamilton are just 10 minutes away and it is only half an hour from the centre of Glasgow, 45 minutes from Edinburgh and an hour from Gretna.
