Situated on the high ground much favoured by wealthy Victorian potters and industrialists, Haydon House Hotel stands sentry over the district of Etruria, which for 200 years housed the workforce of Josiah Wedgwood`s famous pottery. Built in 1880 with all the elegance of the Victorian era, Haydon House originally boasted nine bedrooms, servants quarters, stables, an extensive garden, tennis court and its very own ghost. The Machin family home for over 50 years, Haydon House`s transformation into a hotel in 1980 was designed to retain its elegant, yet friendly atmosphere. Offering a wealth of original features and many interesting collections, in addition to superb accommodation and cuisine, Haydon House is the epitome of an elegant hotel. We also welcome well behaved dogs.
