Once an old vicarage, the hotel was bought in 1976 by Andrew Stirling. For over 15 years he has been helped by Sarah Keogh and Mary Rowlands `front of house` with Steve Brown and Alex George `dans la cuisine`. The Hotel is very much a family affair, a fact reflected in the ambiance and character of `Allt yr Afon` (Wood by the River). Many locals still know us by this, the original name.
All our bedrooms have recently been tastefully refurbished. They have private bathrooms with showers, telephones, colour T.V. and tea or coffee making facilities. The Hotel is a careful blend of the old and the new, and we have tried to make our rooms practical as well as comfortable. In total there are 20 bedrooms comprising of 5 twin, 3 singles, 2 family and 10 double rooms, nine of which are in the old house and eleven in the new wing. The view from some of the Hotels bedrooms is south towards Treffgarne Rocks, set beyond the small village of Wolfscastle itself.
