Built in 1883 as a family home South Lodge still exudes that feel. Amongst the 93 acres of parkland are 260 varieties of Rhododendrons, Camellias and Azaleas, which, when in bloom, present a magnificent sea of colour. Inside are 45 exquisitely furnished rooms, some with romantic four-posters, others with bubbling Jacuzzis, and wherever you turn stunning views over the South Downs. Our executive chef Lewis Hamblet cooks carefully and superbly using fresh local produce, much of it from our own walled garden. The art of the cooking is matched by a carefully selected wine list.

For golfers we have two outstanding championship courses 5 minutes drive away at Mannings Heath. Close by are Arundel Castle, Glyndebourne, Petworth House, showjumping at Hickstead and some of the most spectacular gardens in the South East.

Additional facilities:
*Clay pigeon shooting (to be booked in advance)
*Archery (to be booked in advance)
*18 Hole Golf Course - 5 minutes drive
*Tennis Courts, Putting Green, Croquet
