The Cairndale Hotel & Leisure Club is one of south west Scotland`s leading hotels, offering a wide range of facilities.

The REIVERS RESTAURANT in the hotel has recently been award an AA rosette for fine dining and has taken the name from the Border Reivers who had ongoing feuds between Scottish Clans and English families on either side of the Border between the 13th and 17th centuries. A story of cross-border cattle and sheep rustling (reiving) and in-fighting. The Border Reivers were in many ways not dissimilar to the outlaws of the American Wild West where greed, corruption and murder were the order of the day. Out of this period of Border history comes the story of legends where loyalties and acts of great courage are recorded on both sides of the border.

Many of the local families and clans who were involved over this period are highlighted in our menu and around Reivers Restaurant.

SAWNEY BEANS RESTAURANT has taken its name from Sawney Bean who was believed to have been the last known cannibal in Britain and is understood to have lived with his family in a cave in south west Scotland. The disappearance of travellers who were ambushed by the Sawney Bean clan in the area led to the whole family being rounded up by King James VI which required 400 men to do the job and who were consequently executed in Edinburgh.

The Restaurant offers a less formal eating experience.

The BARRACUDA CLUB has established itself as one of the finest hotel leisure facilities of its kind in the area and recent refurbishment has added to the enjoyment of a visit to the club. Hotel residents enjoy full use of the facilities which include 14m heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa bath and air conditioned gymnasium. Our Beauty Salon offers a range of treatments and guests are advised to book treatments in advance.

Regular entertainment is a feature at the Cairndale Hotel with either a dinner dance or cabaret night on every Saturday throughout the year. From May to October inclusive our increasingly popular Cairndale Ceilidh takes place on Sunday nights.

Our premier venue, PARK HOUSE, boasts a wide range of facilities for weddings and can accommodate up to 300 wedding guests. We can also a number of rooms for smaller Weddings Ceremonies, Receptions and Private Dining with menus to suit all requirements.

Together with Park House Ballroom we can also accommodate a range of purpose built meeting rooms which form the backbone of the new complex. The Ballroom allows for a number of different layouts for all kinds of meetings, seminars and functions. There is also disabled access on the ground floor.
