Grasmere House is a fine example of a Victorian family residence, set in 1.5 acres of mature gardens laid largely to lawn and with magnificent, towering beech trees and small woodland fir copse. Built in 1896 for prosperous Salisbury merchants, Grasmere is constructed in deep, red brick with attractive pointed finials on the roof gables. The conservatory restaurant, with spectacular views over Grasmere`s gardens and lawns, down to the rivers Nadder and Avon and across to the Cathedral, has seating for 40 diners. The menu features a variety of dishes using local produce and changes frequently to reflect the seasons. Themed evenings are popular with the Hotel`s Dining Club members as well as its many regular guests.
