The Mount Somerset is cradled by hills on all sides, giving it some of the most beautiful views in England. Built in 1805 by an Italian architect, it has the feel of a delightful, beautifully proportioned private house rather than a hotel.

The West Country lies on your doorstep - rich in wildlife, superb walking and historic attractions like Glastonbury Tor. Yet most people come to Mount Somerset not `to do` but simply `to be` - to enjoy the tranquil location, beautiful grounds and excellent food. You could stand for hours at a window simply watching the light change on the hills - the perfect antidote to a busy life.
