The picturesque setting on the banks of the River Dee on Royal Deeside has been home to Maryculter House since 1225. Steeped in history, this building has been evolved from a modest house to a splendid country house hotel which, even the Knights Templar themselves would have been proud of.

Each of our twenty-three spacious bedrooms have been individually furnished and decorated in a style in keeping with this historic and elegant hotel. All rooms are available for single occupancy. Equipped with all the normal modern facilities you would expect to find these days.

In the heart of the hotel stands the majestic cocktail bar, built above the vaulted cellar, with its tall wooden beamed ceilings, stone walls and grand open fireplace. You can easily imagine yourself back in the days of the lands, castles and clans with a wee dram in front of the roaring log fire on a cold winters night.

Situated off the heart of the hotel are two very different quality-dining areas.

Poachers Pocket (informal)

With its old world charm, character and home from home atmosphere, Poachers Pocket is a wonderful restaurant in which to sample the delights from our exclusive menu whilst enjoying breathtaking views over the River Dee.

Priory Room (formal)

This restaurant offers the perfect setting for a candlelight dinner with its stone walls, open fire and intimate atmosphere. Dine from our a la carte menu specially prepared by our maitre chef de cuisine, using only fresh local produce.

Looking for something to do, then look no further than Aberdeen (just 10 minutes away), an ideal place for shopping, theatre, museums, art galleries and much more. If you want to spread your wings a bit further then try our Castle, Whisky, Coastal or Heritage trails.

On the doorstep of Maryculter House are some of the North-East premier golf courses - Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay.

Another option is to relax with a spot of fishing on the banks of the River Dee, boasting the finest Salmon rivers in Scotland.

From a quiet relaxing break to an activity weekend, Maryculter House Hotel is the ideal venue.
