Set in 200 acres of parkland, lakes and gardens, this splendid castle hotel is a real treasure. Only 8 miles from the A1, and two and a half hours by train from London, Swinton Park is easily accessible, and yet a world apart at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. This is a stately home - the ancestral seat of the Earl of Swinton - and lavishly decorated with family portraits and antiques. Thirty rooms each individually furnished, including five suites, with one on three circular floors in the turret. Spa, treatment rooms, private cinema and snooker room. Country pursuits including golf, walking, fishing, riding, cricket and shooting. Civil wedding licence. Cookery School run by celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager.
