It is about 150 yards from Windermere rail and bus stations, and is noted for its warm and friendly atmosphere, comfort and cleanliness. Built in 1860, originally as a bank, this fine traditional stone building has a central location convenient for shops and a good variety of restaurants, with ample private car parking available within its grounds.
